People down in so cal. is it really like this?!

Hey. i just wanted to know. Are cops down in so cal really like this? do they really care for such things as no front plates? or simply modified stuff on your car as this video?

Jebus...just because you mod your car, doesn't mean you street race.

I am 100% against street racing, but impounding someone's car just because it isn't stock is going too far.

So,
does that mean if I don't have my front plate (and I don't) they will take my car for 30 days? That is so bad.
Good, I'm not there

No, in San Francisco and Los Angeles, it's a fix-it ticket (which my dad and my wife got on different cars, since I never had their front plates on), which was $8 + an inspection sign-off the last time it happened.

I ran without a front plate for 20 years without a ticket, until 2003, when we started getting new cars already prepped with the front plate holder attached.

With other obvious illegal mods, you're on your own.

Thats such BS, you can't impound a guys for mods, especially if they are street legal. Also, they can't arrest you without having probable cause. That makes no sense. They would never do something like that in NJ. I find this ridiculous, especially when the car has street legal mods. I would have caused hell if they impounded my car on BS reasons like that.

Did you guys ^^ even watch the same video I did? They didn't take ANYBODY's car for being modified. They didn't impound a car due to no front license plate. The ONLY car they DID clearly impound was one being driven by an unlicensed driver. In all, it didn't seem out of the usual at all for a DUI SOBRIETY checkpoint. They were ASKING about modifications and I expect that they could easily identify the cars that may be suspect but the only thing that does is let them in on where you live.

I don't believe they said they were impounding the guys car because it was modified....it was because of no license/registration.
