Sorry, but I just read the thread where you said that...couldn't resist. The headlights are cleared by either you or a shop that will do it for you. Step by step instructions have been posted on this site by at least 2 different people.

Red face Didn't someone recently ask this before??

IMO, it's prolly a little hard for people who have never done this before or never been experiecing this type of works in the past. It may take some time to take your front bumper off, and it seems easy to take your headlight apart. To me, I'll worry I cannot properly seal the headlight and put everything back. Even the skilled shops sometimes cannot seal it well, then you find out your headlight is foggy, and you have to remove everything and do all the works again and again.

I'll try to ask good shops to do that for me. And, I'll tell the shop exactly what type of clearheadlight I wanna have.

Yah, if I do it I would want to be sure I could reseel it properly. If a shop charges in the neighborhood of 100 I would have them do it, I would make sure I could stay to take pictures, and to make sure they seal it though.

I had a shop do it, didn't have the guts to possibly ruin my headlights and cause leakage/fog problems.

its easy to make sure they dont fog up. people just dont take the extra time. actually, for me, it did fog up, i had the shop take it off and i took it home and worked on it again.

use the silicone that you purchased to seal it together. make sure you cut the tip of the silicone small so that it can get into small places. you can squeeze a good amount around the edges where the housing and cover meet. think of it as.... stuffing a donut or a cream puff. make sure that when you seal it together for the first time after its cleared, you let the silicone dry and set. then reapply silicone after

place the tip of the nozzle in the spaces between the edges, squeeze till full, then move nozzle and repeat. STUFF IT!

it wont leak after that. perfect ever since. its been raining a good amount too and ive washed the car and rinsed it off several times. ive even held the hose around the headlight spraying directly at the edges to see if it would leak and nothing has happened

like i said before, its deffinitely not a DIY for everyone. but everyone should be able to do it. just matters on if you have the guts to risk it. oh, you also need kitchen hands. the hotter the headlight, the easier it is to seperate after you take it out of the oven. dont use mitts to seperate it, you wont get a good grip.

Those are the stock bulbs. They are not amber, just slightly yellowish. Here is a pic at night.

SO that's what it looks like after you remove the amber?
where can i get bulbs that would stay white, but change to yellow when i turn on the turn signal?

If I tell you, do you promise to revive this thread after another 3 years?

I believe Csmeance meant to say 7443 for the bulb part #.

I bought mine from www.Autolumination.com. If you get the 7443 Switchbacks with 30 LEDs it will fit correctly. If you're not familiar with LED turn signals I suggest you perform a search on this forum for "Switchbacks". You will find more information that will definitely help you with all you need to know about this mod.
