Parking lights?

Seems like I can't get my parking lights to stay on.
After coming home from the Palm Springs 'weekend of love' and pulling up to the curb (to unload luggage) I reach down and click the headlight stalk one time thinking that my parking lights will come on. Well they do. Put within moments they shut off.
No fiddling with the thing makes them stay on.
Hey, I just want to have them babies on to avoid getting creamed by some little old lady criusing down the street with poor eyesight.
Just protecting my TL.

I would guess this is because you have your headlights set to one of the auto-off modes. I think the parking lights will behave the same way. But, the headlights (and parking lights) will stay on as long as a door is ajar, no matter what the auto-off setting is. At least I think so. With this car, who knows? Besides Ron A, who's gonna read a manual that makes "War and Peace" look like a Cliff Notes?

And what the hell is up with this "weekend of love" thing? Too much info, bro.

But War and Peace doesn't have pictures.
I didn't say anything about a weekend of love. I wish. Oh, you were talking to Radcliffe1. Excuse me.

You are right about the settings. You have to change the MID setting, but the problem is the maximum auto off time is 60 seconds, and there is no way to defeat that. The only ways around it are to leave the door ajar, as you said, or leave the key in the ignition, which is probably not a good idea.

I have an idea.

How about turning on the hazards while you unload luggage.

That would get the old ladies attention better no?
