Dealers outsource their body and paint work most of the time, unless they are replacing a prepainted OEM body part. They are adding their markup for being the middleman between the paint shop and you. Just research your areas shops for the best talent and warantees. For that kind of money they should be painting your car with multiple coats of aircraft grade epoxy paint like DuPont Emron. Then you wont have to worry about the chipping and scratching we all face with the crappy EPA freindly Acura factory paint.

As most will tell you, don't do it. Repainting an entire car will just devalue it. When you decide to sell it, people will really question why it isn't the original paint.

If possible, resale it (privately) or trade it in. Otherwise, suck it up and live with it.

probably should have given that some thought before you got your TL

you're screwed. if you get the car repainted it will never look as good as the factory paint. it will be devalued because people will assume it was in an accident and that is why it will be worth less. you can try to get some cheapo paint job but why would you put shitty paint on a $30k+ car?

that 2K or 5k paint job will cost you alot more than that when you factor in the devaluation of the vehicle like many have said already. That color is probably the most common color therefore its probably the easiest to sell as it appeals to alot of folks. sell it and get the color TL you want. I cannot imagine purchasing a car if i considered the color to be ugly.........whats up with that?

if you do repaint your car, which noone recommends you doing, but if you go that route, find out if they will strip the car then paint everything. I think it will look even more ugly if the outside of your vehicle is white or black, and the door jams, engine bay, etc., are grey. If you are willing to spend 5k on a paint job, just go with the easy route and fork up a few more g's to get another vehicle in the color that you want.
