Paint starting to crack and chip

I got my bumper repainted about a month ago. Ever since, it's been sitting in my garage. As I was washing the car today, I noticed several tiny soon-to-be chipped marks around the bumper. How can this be when the car was inside the garage the whole time. Is it because of a bad paint job? The edges are also about to peel off.

Sounds like a very poor paint job. Im not sure how much you spent but just remember you get what you pay for. Sounds like an all around poor job both in preperation (or lack there of), and the actual spraying.

the paint wasn't cheap. So i went to the shop and showed them the areas where its about to get chipped. The owner of the shop said it's really nothing. All it needs is a wet sand which takes 30 mins. Will wet sanding be good enough or need to re paint it again?

let them do it-if you do not like the results then request a repaint

The shop is full of shit, and did a half assed job in the first place...they either prepped/primed incorrectly, or didn't allow the primer enough time to cure, or used inferior products/methods to paint it...There is NO NEED to have to wet sand etc. a properly painted bumper...have them redo it properly!!! I'm reading far too many threads like this lately...Does noone take pride in their work anymore???

Your bumper will continue to chip, crack, and flake if not redone correctly...

I think they are full of shit. I would tell them to wet sand if they like but if it chips again then they need to repaint it. See what they say.

what's causing the paint to chip? The dirt inside the paint perhaps?

how about you post pictures so we can see instead of jumping the gun and accusing the shop of doing a horrible job. It could be something very minor that can be taken care of.

The preparation and the quality of the clear used are the #1 reason for cracking/chipping in the paint.

Take it to them to do it.

U shouldn't have to do anything extra just to make it right. It should have left their shop perfectly done.
