Does anyone else have chipping problems with their TL. I have an O5 TL and man I just realize i have crazy chips in the front. When I first purchased the car they had to repaint the front bumper because it had a chip during delivery. So they told me for my first oil service they would fix and repaint the bumper. I just looked at it and it looks real bad and to top it off it looks like the clearcoat is thining out. Does anyone know if this would be covered on my warranty? Does any one have a place they can suggest I can get my chips fixed without playing an arm and a leg?

 

Thats what happens when you drive. I have a bunch of chips too, you cant avoid it. You can get a clearbra or if your cheap just get a mask if it bothers you that much. You can always use touch up paint. I dont know about the clearcoat thinning out. How do you tell? I think that would be covered under warranty, especially if it starts to rust.

 

Well, the TL seems to suffer from this EXCESSIVELY.

OP, it sounds like you need your whole front end painted. Mine's an '06 with ~46k and I'm getting it done next Spring.

 

Same with my 06 TL (18K) i have paint chips as well as chip on my windshield, just got the windshield sealed (but still is there) it sucks.. i am torn away just looking at the chips, as well as my bumper which are dent and stuff. (but for the bumper i don't really care since i can always upgrade to the sporty bumper one.) but still... it sucks!

 

Any idea how much a new sporty bumper would run? Maybe I should just get a new one instead of getting it repainted.
