Paid too much??

Guys,

I just bought a TL a month ago and thought I got a great price... But, now I'm a little concerned... Tell me what you guys paid... Here is what I paid to get these:

Navi
Anthracite/Grey leather
Splash Guards
Low spoiler

Out the Door (including tax/tags/registration -- I live in MD btw 5% tax)
... $35,500

That's not too bad.

I paid $37076 after all said and done for Anthracite/Ebony + Navi, splash guards, body side moldings, trunk tray, and all weather mats. You got the spoiler (which is normally about $450 after install) so you did reasonably well.

I think base is generally 35150, they all often throw in the splash guards for the same price. So that's dead on with the $450 for the spoiler)

Many got cheaper thru better bartering, but a bunch of us paid dead on the same. I was so impatient and so happy they found one the next day that I paid it and drove off into 9 months of hell..

Sherlock,

That's only dead on if that didn't include taxes, registration, etc, where his did. With those additional bits, he got a good deal, I think.

Are you bragging about the deal you got? If you are, no one really cares and you should be happy with your decision.

These threads come up all the time, and have little meaning with the information normally provided. In order to know what someone really paid, you need to break it down and show us any trade-in information, actual taxes paid, title and documentation fee etc. Every state is different. For instance, hear in Texas, all dealers charge an inventory tax. Not a lot, but it's there (I think it was $89 - I just bought a new TL this morning). Also, in Texas you only pay sales tax on the difference if you trade a car.

We continuingly try to educate ppl to break down the cost one by one instead of so-called "out of door price". There are too many factors out there which will affect the final price.

Since you have got your car and love your car, please enjoy it.

Or you could think about this, lots of ppl here paid MSRP... feel better??

I'm sure you did fine. Why even ask? Either you'll be bumming or someone else who reads this is going to be bumming. Enjoy your car!

Hey, rets - I tried once (as you probably know ... you know everything! ) to get a good thread going on "real" 04TL pricing. My thread had the "price paid for the 04TL, (but don't post if you had a trade-in)". It probably would be good to put that back on top if the thread could be found ... Other folks mentioned that they thought it was helpful.

Cheers!
