Oxygen Sensor - reprogramming?
I have a 2008 TL and an error code for my upstream front O2 sensor(bank 1, sensor 1). Can I replace this myself? The dealer told me the car needs to be reprogrammed after replacement and wants about $200 just for labor. I have been told by others this makes no sense and I can just replace the sensor. I would appreciate any help. Additonally, if I do it myself should I get the NTK(oem) part or is another manfacturer just as good for these parts? Thanks

^replace it yourself. it's easy, especially since yours is bank 1 and not 2.
dealer is full of shit and wants you to bend over for them. don't do it. keep your pants on and replace yourself. be sure to use anti seize on the threads.

Thanks, that is exactly what a local repair shop told me, but I just wasn't sure. I had just used them for an alignment and state inspection so your answer adds to my trust that they are honest. Actually was amazed, first time in my life, guy walks up to me and says "hi I am the owner and we appreciate your business". I will go back just because of that experience.
