Just filled up tonight: $2.79/gallon for premium, 91 octane. The gas is not only more expensive here in California but we only get 91 octane vs. 93 in other places! I know we have a different formulation for cleaner burning but I wonder if it robs our TLs of any performance with this special blend?

no, it's not bad enough

No. That isn't bad enough. Sadly, where I live you can't buy a decent house for 600k. A townhouse, yes, but not a good old fashioned regular house.
Oh, and the gas is $2.79 a gallon.
Just goes to show, no matter how bad you think it is, it can always get worse. I'm just glad I have a means to make do in this wonderful, but overpriced, part of the world, and a roof over my head. The fact that I have a nice car to pump the overpriced gas into makes me feel pretty silly about complaining about the the overpriced gas.
I say we enjoy it and thank our luck we don't ride the London subway.

My gas is about the same @ $2.67 today but houses are (only) $350-$400K for something average. I think the temperature today was about 105 and will stay there all week.
Not only do we only get 91 octane but I think performance and mileage suffer so that we can breath.

2.55 for premium in mass.. They are just our raping us for gas... And with another tropical depression already on its way, it will get another boost since they speculate if the off shore oil platforms may be impacted by the storm.

Last time I filled up, it cost me $30.89 for 12.878 gallons. Premium fuel at the time was $2.399/gallon; most stations have gone up 5 cents since then. Eventhough I can still find some at $2.399 or a little less.
They will use any excuse to raise gas prices. And all this speculation doesn't help either. Its all a scam in my opinion.

I had filled up this past Saturday at $2.38/gal at my local QuikTrip. Since I had to pre-pay with cash, I thought $35 would be enough, but it didn't come close to being full. I just hope it'll last me until the next time fuel prices go down again.

Most of the stations around me are between $2.52 and $2.57 a gallon for super. One Shell station was at $2.46 last week.

Around $2.60 in Mass... It's not a renewable resource, if somebody forgot that... And don't fool yourself that price is going to go down. It will not - regardless of oil companies, presidents, wars, peace, hurricanes etc (small fluctuation up and down, but general trend – up!). Just enjoy your $2.40 - $2.80 range - a year from now you'll be only dreaming of such prices! My prediction - well over $3 ...

$2.35 today for Sunoco 94 Octane. That's the highest I've ever seen in my area. I used to be able to fill my tank for 20 something...but lately it's over 30bucks. I feel for the people who drive SUV's.

Hmm, thats strange, $30-$31 dollars always fills my tank up even at 2.399/gallon for premium. I live in Atlanta as well. I fill up when I get the low fuel warning, and never get more than 13.5 gallons in there after automatic shut off. I guess that means when the low fuel warning comes on, there is 3.5 gallons left in the tank.
Do you top of your tank, or drive around for a while after the low fuel warning comes on? That is the only reason I can think of why your fill ups would cost more than $35. Unless somehow you ended up with a bigger tank then the rest of us. hehehe
