I was the original owner of an '05 non-navi TL until its demise last year. I had loved this car since I had first laid eyes on it when it had first come out in '04. And when my last car was totaled, I had picked up an '07 TL-S with 34K miles on it because I couldn't find anything else that offers a 6MT that's fully loaded, and I didn't want car payments.

With most new cars moving into ATs now, having a MT car is a real treat when you can row your own gears.

I guess technically, I'm both. I bought an 04 TL and brought it home brand new in Jan 04 and had it until I traded it in on my current 08 TL-S in Nov of 09 (used).

Been eyeing the Type S since 07. Finally got into a position to own one after years of telling my dad to buy one.

Bought it with 25k miles a year ago and it is in far better shape now then when I took possession a year ago last weekend.
Sitting at 31,750 now.

Orig owner here. Love this car more than any other car I've owned. Not that it's had much competition though.

is your name on the registration? and what does carfax say? technically if you don't OWN the car when it came off the lot and it was handed down to you...you'd be the 2nd owner. this is assuming you transferred the title to your name.

if nobody else drives the car before you on a regular basis, then you're the original owner no matter what the DMV says IMO.

Hmmm, I didn't know there was a requirement that one had to be a current Acura owner to remain on Acurazine.

My bad, since I recently got rid my 05 TL I've had over seven years, I guess I had better cancel my membership here after being here since 2005

Original owner, purchased the car on August 18, 2004. Aside from the mechanic, the only other people ever to drive it have been my brother (one time for about 40 miles coming back from a golf trip) and my then-girlfriend/now-wife (once, for about 150 metres when I was stuck in the snow in a car park so I put her behind the wheel while I pushed the car out). We have the mirrors and seat programmed for her as Driver 2 but I've never needed to let her drive yet.

Original owner, purchased the car on 11/10/2007. Traded in my 2005 Acura TSX as part of the purchase. Kinetic Blue Pearl TL-S with Ebony and Silver interior. No major mechanical issues, only recall is the recently completed power steering issue. Have completed some minor modifications, but lately the mod bug is becoming highly annoying. No one drives the car but me on a daily basis. The 3rd Generation TL style and design is amazing, and still catches my eye, and I find myself for example turning back around to capture another glimpse when walking from the parking garage to my office building. Am very blessed to have the opportunity to own this car and be able to drive it. One of the BEST cars I have owned.

The title has been in my name since I was 17. I may not have owned it off the lot but I drove the car off the lot and was the only one to drive it for a while after we bought it.. I think the technicalities of being the "first owner" is not the point of this thread.

I could care less who had the title in their name. I just want to know if you were the first to drive it off the lot and drive it for a while after that or are still driving it to this day.

I am an original owner of a 05 TL. Bought it after getting rid of Mazda 6 that was in the shop a lot over its first year.

Car has been paid off for a couple years and really like not having a payment.

Nfnsquared, still own your TL? (I assume so.) We're two of the oldest farts (3G TL ownership-wise) on here. Remembered we bought our TLs within 2 weeks of each other (in Nov 2003) from post #101-109 in IHC's thread last year. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...=828720&page=3

Well technically the bank was the original owner until I paid off the loan but I guess I fit the category as original owner of my '05 TL 6MT w/nav. Almost at 78,000 after seven years of ownership and am getting that new car itch again.

I purchased my 04 TL in late 03, I was one of the first few thousand to get one. I now have over 190k, replaced 1 transmission (under x warr), steering pump and just replaced the bushings besides the normal maintenance.

I hope to keep the car for another 190k I love it so much.

I've often wondered about the reliability of Inaccurate's car. Half of the items that can cause problems are eliminated and the powertrain should be very reliable at that weight.

As much as I would love to say "she never gave me problems," but unfortunately she did. She currently has under 64K miles and has been running strong. Actually feels brand new after the repairs.

Here's the thread from last year...

Hey Coy, glad your car is doing fine after your fiasco with the dealer last year. My car only made the loud bang noise once (by putting it into reverse and starting to back out of the garage) like I posted in that thread. Corrected itself and has been fine ever since. 122k miles and counting...
