Opinion on used TL-S

So this would be my third Acura - had two TSX's, and of course always watched jealously as TL-S' drove by.

I'm thinking about this one: TL-S 6-speed with 66k miles. My concern is that you only buy this car if you mean to drive it - so I have no idea how hard the car has been driven. What do you guys think?

1. TL-S never came as polished metal metallic. Might be carbon bronze pearl.

But if it is an 08 6spd then most likely it is a S.

A lot of people have purchased used TL-S with no issues including me.

If you buy a Type-S, S2000, RSX, or any kind of sports car, there's a reason. I don't see why people make them into garage bitch cars.

I have be a beater saturn for doing work and piddling around. But I drive my Acura everyday straight to vtec. I've done my maintenance, I do regular upkeep. My Acura is the best thing I've ever owned.

Edit: My only regret now is I got mine in automatic, if you have a chance to grab the 6-spd I'd go for it.

I also bought a used 2008 TL - Type S Manual Trans 6 speed. It is a great car, and if you can get one , I would surely buy it. It is the best nicest car I have ever owned. I came from a 2007 Civic Si.

JG, it looks like an ASM (Alabaster Silver Metallic) from the pictures.

Look into it and have it checked out.

TL's Type s or not are typically driven respectfully. They aren't mustangs that have been abused to shit by teenagers. Granted there are always exceptions, but I have had a few manual tranny TL's and they have been good. Just do your homework on the car your buying and you will be fine.

JG,
Look at my TL Type S, it is ASM, just like the one you are looking at.

The Carfax says that the transmission was "overhauled" at 54,596 miles... Don't know what that means, but IMO, i would pass on it

I saw that too, probably a clutch would be my guess. The question remains, why was it needed?? 2nd owner might have been driving it 24/7 like he stole it.

Still, no substitute for a test drive. If it's been driven hard and abused, there will be small, subtle(or even not so subtle) signs of it.

Thanks for the input guys. I have a month and a half to find one I like before my current lease is up. Honestly might go with a 2008 or earlier TSX 6speed for a year or two while I get financially prepared for a newer Acura with power.

Sorry op, that type s is sold...someone from Las Vegas bought it without even looking at or test driving it. I was just at that dealer ship about 2 hours ago talking to one of the salesman.
