Online Quoting
Don't flame me if this has already been posted. I ran a search and checked out the Garage.
What online quoting service did some of you use? I'm beginning to make some progress in purchasing a TL. I would prefer a service that does not require a phone number. I don't feel like be heckled at work, and would rather do the entire process through EMail until the prices begin to get comptetive.
Thanks.

Maybe I'll just used whatever service I can, and in the comments box, I will politely request no phone calls, just emails for now. I just don't want to piss anyone off at the dealership.

I did this when purchasing my last three vehicles.. email the dealers in your area, ask them to give you their 'out the door price' and tell them they have one chance to reply with their BEST price. It worked great! I got $1k cheaper with one guy and ended up buying from him.. You can also ask the closest dealer to your location and ask them to match the best deal you rcvd from another dealer. Usually the internet sales are also the fleet managers.

dealer's websites
I used the dealer's websites to get quotes. One handled it through email. The other one didn't give me solid numbers through email.
Sunnyside acura in Nashua, NH - they were good service, nothing incredible about the price.
Acura of Peabody, Peabody, MA - they were good about the test drive, and didn't even give me a quote until i showed up. Then quoting me the MSRP, which I didn't really consider much of a deal.
All of that was back in May/June timeframe.

I sent quote request to every dealer around my area. then use the lowest quote to get all other dealers to beat their price. and repeat this until no 1 can going any lower. but i end up buying from a sales person b/c he got the color i wanted.

I used one of the on-line quote services though I can't remember which one.
My experience was that they contact the participating dealer on your behalf,
but the dealer may not want to give you a quote via e-mail. I did, however,
end up getting a decent price this way, with minimal effort.

I think I used Edmunds.com when getting mine but you can get a quote from a dealership's website (most have them). It's probably the best way to get a good price. I spoke with a salesman originally and he told me they absolutely don't discount the Navi's period. Then I e-mailed the internet manager and she told me NBP/Parch/Navi/Auto she could drop it $1600. Then she found out I had already spoken to a salesman and she took her offer back and told me to negotiate with him. I went back in (he already knew I spoke to her) and gave me the discount as well. I would have walked if he didn't. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you can check boxes on how YOU prefer to be contacted, just check e-mail and they'll never call you.
good luck

If emailing, the instant reply comes back, then if you're lucky and they are on the ball, you will get an actual email from internet sales in one business day... I've had good luck.

I was playing around with MSN Free Price Quote....
I was playing around with MSN Free Price Quote... Paragon Acura came up as a valued dealer
Their "e-price" quote was 30,300 for AT/Non-navi hmmm... Has anyone receive a quote from Paragon that low. I know their service sucks b/c I brought my car in to have the SRS light taken care of and a month later, the light came on again. This doesn't indicate(guarantee) that they will have the color combo I want IF I walk in there. The lowest price I lurked around was about 30,250 from a forum member. Any thoughts..
or should I wait until near the end of August to decide....

I'm trying to get a head start on looking now. From the way everyone is talking on this board, if you want a Navi/04, you probably should have alread ordered one. I'm looking for a 6MT/Navi, NOTHING ELSE. I figured when I have some more money down the road, I could add some extras. (Tints, A-Spec...)

Someone got a good quote from Rallye
RyTyGuy,
If you don't mind going to LI, someone (ask Mad Russian)from the forum just ordered one for 32,120 from Rally Acura. You best bet is to call them up and see if you can make it too. I'm not too sure if he/she order a 6mt or AT but it was a navi one. He/She put up the invoice online too. Good Luck...

I know, I have been trading posts with the Mad Russian. That is an unprecedented deal, I can only imagine the haggling/luck he/she got with that car.

Amazing deals compared to what SoCal dealers will do.
When you compare quotes, be sure to compare apples to apples. While some people like an "out the door" price, it makes it hard for others to use the info because DMV fees and sales taxes are different in every state.
Best solution: ask for a price before TTL (tax, title, license). That price should always include the $545 destination charge and the "out the door" price should not vary by dealer.
Dealers have MANY tricks to get you to pay more. Watch out for dealer-added options like appearance packages, LoJack, window etching, tinting, protection packages, extended warranties, "processing fees" etc. etc. etc. If you negotiate a good price and resist the sales pitch of the F&I guy for the aforementioned junk, then they will try to screw you on the trade.
Good info on negotiating a car purchase is available at edmunds.com. Be strong and be smart!

.:HALCÓN DE LA NOCHE:.
When you are asked for your phone number, then just input all zero's. Your e-mail is already included in your request & the dealer will take a hint you only want to deal thru the internet for now. That's what I did & it worked. Hopefully I'll be purchasing this upcoming Saturday.
