Oil Recommendation
My car is over 5k miles and I need to do oil change. What brand and which grade of oil would you recommend(i live in southern california by the way)?

I just changed mine for the first time. I read a lot of posts about oil and oil filters on the forum and decided on 5W-20 (recommended by Acura) - I went with a Mobil 1 fully synthetic product (good deal at Walmart in the 5 gallon jug). I've never had problems with Mobil - 1 and have used it for years in my Nissan Maximas and my C5 Z06 Corvette.
I also bought a K & N Oil Filter at Kragen - I love those filters.
Others may give you different opinions and it's up to you to decide.
One thing that I learned is that if you don't have the right wrench, the oil filter is a MOFO to take off. I tried to use a hell of a lot of elbow grease but the angle was all wrong. Eventually I wrapped the filter in a small washrag then used my old (too large) filter wrench to unscrew the old filter. It's a bit messy if you're doing it in the driveway (I use ramps on a driveway that slopes, so I get a very small nose down orientation) so make sure you cover your concrete as well as properly place your oil catch pan.

Here's a tip for anyone struggling with getting the filter off. All you need is a pair of standard channel locks opened up about 3/4 of the way. Work perfect. Then wrap a zip lock bag around it as you take it off to avoid spillage.
Havoline 5W-20 is the same as Honda spec oil.

Not that I know of. I just like the K & N quality. I installed a K & N AIR filter on my '04 Corvette Z06 and theres a claimed bump of up to ~15 hp but I haven't verified that.
