I just bought a 2005 TL a month ago, what kind of Oil do they put in the TL?

I want to take it to the dealer because the sales guy threw in the "Lifecycle" which is normally $375.00. For any of you who do not know what it is, it is a service you can buy and as long as you own the car. That $375.00 covers lifetime oil changes. I have always put Synthetic in my other cars, if they do not use synthetic, then i will probably just buy some and have them put it in.

for 375 I doubt it would be synthetic. By the way, what type of synthetic do you use?

 

If you are asking what kind of oil does the dealer put in the TL, then I'm afraid the only person who could tell you that is the dealer himself. The manual calls for 5W20, but of course it says to use Honda oil (surprise?), but I am sure the dealer uses a good grade of oil.

Since he probably buys in bulk, and only has one tank, he probably uses 10W30 because that is what the majority of Honda and Acura cars use, but it won't hurt to use it in your 05 TL.

I always used Mobile 1 Synthetic. The dealership doesn't know I am on the Lifecycle thing until i pick up the car so the 375 wouldnt mean anything.
