Oil Pump Brand Recommendations

Hi all. I am getting ready to replace my oil pump. What are your thoughts on brands? Aisin doesn't seem to make it anymore. I found Melling, SKP, and EngineTech on Rock Auto. Not much else out there. Are they all the same, or is Melling worth the extra $50?

07 TL Type S

Thanks.

The factory oil pump is the one to buy.

I prefer OEM parts, especially for this kind of thing, but my local dealer told me the oil pump is discontinued :/

Did you try bernardiparts.com? or curryacuraparts.com or similar?

Its available. And quite inexpensive.

Most online stores are showing that the AISIN pump is discontinued or no longer available for purchase. You can try ebay for a new AISIN one but best of luck. With the TL-S being out of production for 14 years it's going to become more common. Someone had said that all the J 35/37 oil pumps are the same... maybe you can snag one for a different model?

For example here is J37 out of 2007-2009 MDX:

rockauto is the way to go. Don't worry about their aftermarket pumps. Practically everything they sell is OK and for a lot less than OEM.

Their parts have helped me get to 357K miles!

Ending up finding an Acura Bulletin with updated part numbering! Ordered through Honda.

The pump is leaking oil pretty good. Since I'm doing all the labor to replace the seals, at almost 200k miles, I want to be proactive and just replace it. Doing timing belt and water pump too.

Could you post up that part no for anyone that comes upon this thread in the future?
