My 06 tl has 12750 miles and I noticed Im about a half a quart low after 3500 miles using mobil 1 5w20. This is the first time I noticed this so Im going to change it now and watch it more closely! Anyone else have this issue? Any feedback appreciated!

 

Never had this happen on my 2005 TL.

Did you do the oil change yourself?

Was the oil level re-checked after the initial fill and engine started to check for leaks?

You then shutt-off the engine and re-check the oil level and top it off.

I sounds like the oil change was performed, the oil filled to the top of the indicator on the dipstick but the engine was never started.

 

I have an 04 6MT w/ Nav and it always has used a 1/2 quart of oil between oil changes. I have 65,000 miles onit, and it has done it since 30,000 miles. At first I thought it was caused by a dirty air filter which sometimes can cause this...not the case. I've just accepted it as is. Although odly enough on my drive from MA to FL 4,750 miles I didn't use a single drop of oil. There's no leaks that I can see under the car, so I don't know to be honest with you. Might be worth keeping track and having the dealer take a look?

 

Check the Acura factory service manual. I know for the Integra Type-R, 1 quart / 1000 miles was considered normal

As long as you are within the factory limits for oil consumption, no big reason to worry. However, you can always take it to the dealer and they can do an oil consumption test.
