when should I change the engine oil? I have currently 4500 miles. Do I have to wait untill the service warning comes? When I check it still says that I ahv about 30 % oild left

 

This is teh repeated questions over the forum, I'm sure you could get tons of reviews and suggestions if performing the SEARCH or checking GARAGE.


The owner manual says you should follow the indication of MID, which means you should wait for the service warning of MID. Meanwhile, this is your car, changing engine oil frequently or doing it as the old school guys should not jeopardize your TL, either.

 

I haven't really looked into the threads about this, but thought I'd give my couple cents on it. My Acura dealer told me that I definately shouldn't change the oil until the MID tells me to, especially for the 1st oil change... guess I need to search the forums to confirm :P

 

What your dealer told you is probably generally correct, but I think that once 5000 miles (or its metric equivalent) is attained, it's okay to change the oil and filter. Several threads in which Road Rage participated will shed more light on this subject.

 

i would wait until it says sevice due soon. this will come on at 15%
