i would get it closer to 10k at most. Make sure it has also had the 105K mile tune up. its an expensive tune up that you dont want to do right after you buy the car.

Talking 2005 Acura TL - Used - Price Question

Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking of getting another TL. There's for one for sale, here is the info:

2005, TL, Auto, 57,000 Miles
Interior in good condition
Exterior has some minor scratches and small dent (noticeable only if you point it out) on driver rear side, and a 1 inch hole in the front bumper (not sure what happened here, but this will need repair)
Car inspected and all looks good

Seller is asking or 10K. Thoughts on price? Anything else I should be considering? If you need more info just ask. THANKS!

Good Price!

Ask for service records, find out any info on carfax.

Car is alomost 8 years old (still low milage) so minor imperfectioins are expected. Test drive it and check fluids.

If everything checked out, I would buy it for that price. Good luck

Thanks. Would this be considered a really good price?

It would be a "really good price" if there were no exterior defects. Considering the front bumper will have to be replaced and the dent will have to be PDR'd, it's decently priced.

I say do it!

Thanks Guys. Still looking into it will report back... The price seems too good to be true, so I keep something something must be wrong with it.

Edmunds is saying 12-14K range. I'm seeing other TL 2005's with similar mileage being sold for 15-17?!

price seems on the low side for the mileage. where is the hole located in the front bumper? if it's on the passenger side it could be the tow hook insert. the little cap is missing. if it's anywhere else...then i don't know what it is. i'd be weary of the price for such a low mileage 05. if all checks out mechnically then it's a great price...if not then you'll know why it's priced to sell. get maintenance records if possible and carfax (though it will not tell you everything if things were not reported to car fax). make sure all the goodies work inside the car (windows, navi if equipped, lights, dash lights sunroof etc).

non nav.

PRICE OUT THE DOOR- $13,298 (includes, taxes, plates, title, etc)

link:
http://courtesyacura.com/Lexington-K...-Car/13633014/

OR....

07 TL - 88k
25point inspection

amp installed (left by previous owner)

link:
http://www.quantrellforlife.com/vehi..._Lexington--Ky

PRICE OUT THE DOOR- $15,509 (includes, taxes, plates, title, etc)

SO basically, is it smarter to pay more for less miles and more features(i got a gps so the nav isnt that important to me)? or is it just as safe to go cheaper with some more miles?

Doesn't look like this thread has much attention but I guess I'll add mine.

I have the opportunity to buy an 07 TL Type-S with 88k miles (mostly highway) for $17500. I know it's not such a great deal however it is a KBP which is my favorite color (and likely my only chance at getting one as this is only the second one I've ever seen here). Rides good, runs fine, noticed no issues in the test drive. It does need the oil changed, no other lights on, clean title. I wouldn't say it's in excellent condition but very good. Worthwhile?

How long have you been looking? Whats your budget? If these are your best options and you want a TL now, go with the '07 and haggle down. What's the version of the nav disc? How does the sound system perform? Nothing remarkable about either of these IMO. But if you like one and have a cap on funds then pull the trigger and join the owners club.

If you like driving an AT and that's your preferred color then yes. Get it. It took a while for me to find what I wanted, but when I did, the price was fair - not great/ not bad. And I don't lose any sleep over it, lol.

yeah my cap is 16k.. ive already brought them down from 14900 to 14250 on the 07. i really like them both, the only thing that concerns me is the mileage a bit.. but ill probably pull the trigger on one of them. i want a tl really bad lol

^^^mileage mean nothing if the owner taken good car of the car, I would rather spend $15k on a 86k miles TL with maint records showing all the things that got replaced versus $22k on a 45k miles TL with no maint record or sign that show thing got replaced. The only reason I pull the trigger on my TL because of the Carfax history showed all the fix/repair was made by Acura dealer and oil change every 5k miles also done by Acura dealer, the value was like $1,100 above the book value according to Carfax. Meanwhile most of other I looked at they didn't show much of maint record except for oil change some where in 10k-30k miles.

AMEN brother. Don't worry about mileage in a Honda product. I'd also get the 07 for its added upgrades like the ability to play mp3/wma cds, the aux jack for mp3 players, Dolby II, ambient lighting on the floor, & much more.

^ The car seems solid, the price however is pretty high. Are you buying from a dealer or from a private party? For a dealer that's OK, but for a private party I wouldn't pay more than 11.5-12K for that.

Yeah for private party, try to talk them down a ways. 130 is no problem for these though. Mine is at 141K right now and no problems at all so far.

I'm a salesman at the Honda/Acura dealership here in Anchorage, Alaska and a 3G TL got traded in last thursday and I've been wanting it, I couldn't find the keys for a whole week till last night. Test drove it yesterday (10/24/12), absolutely loved it.
Its a 06 TL Base, 39K miles, lowered, has tint and rain guards, no dents and no dings. My price would be roughly $15,600 from the dealer, and it could quite possibly be CPO.
What do you all think?
