Forget the OEM door edge guards. I had them at first and got rid of them. The problem is they're painted metal which chips as easily as the door edges themselves, only you're chipping the door guards instead.
I had a professional 3M paint film and molding guy install black pliable edging along the entire door edges AND bottoms. The main advantages are that they not only won't chip, but minimize the possibility of damaging someone else's door if you open yours into theirs. And that extra along the door's bottom prevents scratching if you open your door against a high curb.

I like the clear door edge film. I have found it for the 2010 RDX, but I'm wondering if I can get that and use it on a 2007 RDX. I wouldn't see why not, but I just want to make sure. I know the clear bra film is cut for the new grill, so I'd probably have to go to a professional 3M person. Any advise?
