Apparently Acura is terminating NSX production at the end of the year.

Read the link, "Acura is developing a new sports car to succeed the award-winning NSX supercar." so your dream will eventually live on.
Wall Street Journal had a great business article on the NSX a few years ago. The Honda accounting and business folks disliked it since the logistics and production area needed no where justified the very limited production rate and revenue. However the most (but not all) of the Honda exec's still wanted a premere sportscar flagship.

Last time I heard, Takeo cancelled the HSC project because he wanted to concentrate on the truck division, not to mention Honda lost 800 million dollars during the production of the NSX. But if they are producing a new one, then that is good news.

Hey it's even official now
Current NSX production was 125 cars for the first half of 2005 so yeah it's been a financial heartache to say the least.

The NSX did not make a profit over its life if you include the substantial development costs. I believe the total cost, including development, was $800 million, with the actual 'loss' being far less than that.
