So I've have my TL for over a year now, completly stock. Raced a EVO a couple of days ago, lost, bad. But I think now's the time to start beefing up the TL. So here's my list of mods for the future:

ASPEC lip kit
Tein SS Suspension
Rays Gramslights (57S)
Comptech Exhaust
Comptech SS
Comptech RSB
Eshift Header
Sun Grounding Kit
Valentine One radar

Anything else I should add or anything on this list that anyone has had problems with and would suggest a better option?
I have a WDP/Quartz, 6spd, Navi, located in San Diego.

 

i think that with all of those mods you will still not be able to race a EVO. in my opinion its better to lose against a car if yours is completely stock... now that you are adding mods to it.. its gonna look even funnier when you lose against a car of that caliber.... if you wanna be a contender, get a supercharger and then race an EVO.. you can do a search, i know there are a couple of people on this site that already have their orders in... good luck.. remember to post pics of whatever you do.

 

Oh no.. I think I might have been misleading... I DON'T want to race an EVO with all these mods.. your right that would be downright embarrasing. It's now that I have some miles on it, engine is properly broken in, I think it's a good time to start modding, plus waiting all this time let's all the people who first buys a new mod to test it out and let me know if it's worth buying or not.

 

forget the lip kit, forget the grounding kit, forget the RSB, heck you dont even really need the wheels. With forgoing all that, use your pennies for the supercharger and you can work that EVO

 

on, then hell yeah, mod the shit outta it. i am going to wait till spring comes around to start really modding my car.the weather here blows and its not worth putting nice stuff on it when winter is still around. i still need to buy rims, aspec kit, suspension, CAI, and RSB. right now i only have tint, sirius starmate, and shaved (cover) door handle... oh and i have some custom curb marks on my stock rims... but with you living in cali i would go right ahead. but if no supercharger thenstay away from the evos.... i semi raced a hooked up neon this weekend. it was fun and he thought he really had something on me... but no match..

i know it was only a neon and i would have really dane anything but he has his exhaust rims, something that sounded like a super charger. i think it was the faster neon. he kept looking at me reving his engine. so i was like, fuck it ... why not.i was with my girl and i couldn't look like a bitch, she was egging me on to race him. it wasn't a long race. just till he realized that i had the jump on him he backed off. its amazing what one will do for a little poontang....

Yeah you're right BUT...

a stock SRT-4 will give you a run for your money. Last I read 0-60 in 5.9.

 

oh yeah,,, the neon did have the SRT-4 badge on it... but i couldn't tell if it was legit... i got ahead of him bc i know how to launch the car from back in my drag days

 

srt-4's would embarass our cars pretty bad. just don't race them. Still in the end you have an Acura TL, and he has a NEEEEEEEEEEOOOON.

 

Yeah, a stock Evo, and only in a straight line at that. The first corner that you go into, you'll get your ass whooped.

The Evo is not a wise choice of opponent to compete against. TL vs. Evo? Come on.

 

Get the V1 and you can take on an EVO. That of course would be when they get pulled over by a trooper because they will be way in front of you and you will slow down because you know there is one waiting for you. That is the only way/ mod that will help you get on an EVO
