NoVA

I'm in Northern Virginia over the weekend. I always read here about how many TLs there are in that area. I could not believe that everywhere I went I saw multiple TLs.

Has this always been the case or has the increase of TLs in that area always been this way?

This was a little disappointing to me. I like to think that the TL is not like the Accord. We have Accords in every next driveway in Atlanta.

can't say anything about VA, but here in the bay area, it used to be rare to spot a 2G Tl, but nowadays, I see 3G pretty much everyday ... I guess word slowly get out & so much for uniqueness ....

pff. try counting the number of bimmers in the dc metro area. When people have this much money, they will buy the best vehicles that money can buy.

Its true, there are a ton of 3rd Gens here in NoVA... Makes it all the more important for people like us to 'set our cars apart' from the average driver. While there are a shitload of TLs in the area, there are very few modded TLs... Those are the ones I look for...

Hey. You could always install a rear wing about half the size of the car. That'll get attention. And don't paint it. Saw a Mustang yesterday with a ridiculous wing on it. It was both funny and sad.

Being that Northern Virginia is the wealthiest part of the nation, this comes as no surprise. There are places to which I travel where seeing a 3G TL is rather rare.

This area is in the top 5 income per capita in the country, If not the top 3. A study released recently claimed that a family of four in this area must have a minimum income of 70K to afford just the basics.
Forget the TL's. Take a ride down Georgetown Pike between 495 and Rt 7. I use to play 'Count the Mercedes'.

In this area if you want unique, you either go the mod route or you gotta go into the 7 figure cost cars. I used to call the 7 series the "Fairfax Accord". Anything over about $120k will get attention. Anything else is just plain normal.

(Boy that's a weird reality)

On a trip from Charlotte back to Maryland on Sunday (I-85 & Rte 29) I spotted no TL's and 1 RSX until I got to Culpeper (300 miles). I saw 5 or 6 between Culpeper and Frederick (85 miles). So the NOVA/DC/MD story is confirmed!

Even my wife says "There's so many TLs here, it's just not special anymore" We see 10-15 every day driving from Chantilly to Manassas... it's less than 15 miles.

My TL's a lease, and completely unmodded. I am waiting to see what the 4th gen looks like before I decide to buy one of those, or a nice used 3rd gen and start making myself stand out.

Yep there are plenty TL's in this area, but very very few modded ones. I see a couple here and there with the A-Spec kit, but I think i've only seen 2 with wheels other than the standard 17's or A-Spec 18's.

Some people don't even realize what car I have now that it's modded...lol
