Not Sure if This is The RIght Forum or Not
The temporary tags issued to me by a dealership for my '07 TL-S are about to expire. They have yet to get my car fully registered. I called the dealership and they said they are working on it, and they will not extend the expiration of the temporary plate; however, I will be left without a car.
Does anyone have experience or recommendations for a situation like this?
Thanks.

Its the dealerships responsibilty to get the car registered- you paid for that to happen!!
On new cars it can take weeks for the state to issue plates, as long as the paperwork was submitted you can get another temp tag. Cops know that it takes time, and a VIN check will show them paperwork is underway.
A visit to the dealer and talk with the Sales Manager or Dealership General Manager will get things fixed.
If you talked to a salesman- believe nothing that comes out of their mouth

I agree- my dealer told me that if my tags did not come in time, just come back and they will give me a new one. Talk to the Mgr asap.

There should have been ample time to get the car registered after the sale.
Mine was done in less than a week.
nyclio, there seems to be a lot of issues with your new vehicle, i.e. missing rear headrests, trying to sell it for a couple of bucks.etc... which dealer did you buy this from?

Agreed. The car itself is mechanically sound and for the most part cosmetically fine. I'm going to resell it when I get the title in hand.
This was bought from DCH Millburn Audi in New Jersey. The next time I want an Acura, I'll stick to an Acura dealer.

Why would you buy a car just to resell it?

The car is a nice car; it's just not the car for me. I probably should have made that decision before I put money down on it, but the situation is where it is. I'd rather (re)spend a little more and get something I'm fully satisfied with (probably a G37 or 335i). But that's neither here nor there.

You bought it used, they probably don't have the title from who they bought it from. That's why it's taking so long.
