Last year my 06 MT was hit and had to have a door replaced, repainted blended, and then last night it took a hit and run to the left rear quarter panel. I spent that night and next day with my brothers, banging on doors, trying to find the culprit- I know which house they came out of. Its one of "those houses" people coming (no doubt with cash and leaving with something else) and going ALL the time- they wouldn't give up the guilty party. They all deflected and we never found the little F-er. Police didn't have any more luck and we never found the vehicle with the missing tailight that backed into my car (wasn't for lack of trying). Oh well, 98% chance they weren't insured and it ended up going into a "uninsured motorist" claim.
Car's in the body shop now. That rear quarter panel goes all the way around the top of the car and will have to be cut off at the top and somewhere in the back door well, and then patched back together. I'm confident in the guys doing the work- they are A+ but I hate to see that car get ripped apart...again. Should be 2 weeks before I get it back.
oh and I hate rentals. Hope your weekend went better!
It may be that the rear bumper will have to have some work done too.
I have a very tiny dent in my quarter panel, how do you think they'll repair it? located right above the switchback about 2in wide and 1/4in deep, paint is fine
