I totally disagree with you.
A-SPEC is an available option for all TLs, not just the manual tranny.
Put it this way, if the Auto is going to sell more than the manual, why would the manual have everything starting from Brembo to A-SPEC.
Another thing, all the vehicles in Car and Drive, were Auto, and one or two had A-SPEC on.
I'm sure that A-SPEC will be available for who ever wants it.
And you can qoute me on this, I'm 100% sure that A-SPEC will be available on Auto and Manual TLs.
I got my sources man.

Another thing guys, check out this A-SPEC list:
The A-SPEC kit includes:
1- Pre-assembled performance springs and shocks that lower the vehicle approximately 1.2 in. (30 mm)
2- 18-inch wheels with 235/40ZR18 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires
3- Aero kit
4- Rear spoiler
5- Special steering wheel with distinctive shape and stitching
6- Performance brake pads (for automatic transmission vehicles only)
7- A-SPEC badging
If you check out option number 6, you'll sure know that A-SPEC will be available on all TLs

Well, I can't throw all my papers on the table.
I just posted that because almost everybody read that, but most forgot about it, very simple info that states that A-SPEC is available on TLs, and didn't mention anything about maunal tranny having it ony.
But, you'll see by the end of October when A-SPEC reachs the dealers.
Did I just say end of October???
Well, that's when A-SPEC will hit the dealers.
Also to be nice to you, Acura didn't want A-SPEC to come out after the manual TLs, and made sure that A-SPEC will be available before the Manual tranny is out, so they'll be suited in the vehicle when it comes out approximately 10-17 days after A-SPEC. Time will show

I believe if I'm not mistaken, David Mc David Acura already has a TL A spec on the lot. At least it is a TL with with the 18" wheels and the body kit. It is a auto btw. They also have a white one, and the dark green one.
Also at Churchill Acura today, I saw a dark grey one with the Navi.
It was parked next to a TSX.. Hmmm they look almost identical at the front.. Not sure what I think of that...

am i missing something?? or is a-spec in effect already available by putting together all the accessories that are currently available...side body mouldings, front, side, and rear underbody spoilers, rear wing spoiler, 18 inch rims with summer tires...so everything is there with the exception of badging and special steering wheel...the lowering springs are not gonna be there, thats what a salesman at springfield acura told me...he also insists, like someone else on this forum was told, that there will be no a-spec for automatics

does anybody know whether the "a-spec" package is a dealer-installed option package that can be added to any TL or this is a factory option? Also, will any of a-spec parts like the steering wheel or springs be available separately instead of buying the whole package?
thx

Yes, you can.
It's exactly like having the dealer install a spoiler or new tires.
But then, you'll have to pay the 4K out of your pocket and not be able to finance it, unless you include that in your purchase when buying the car

here are some facts:
1- A-SPEC is a dealer installed option, just like installing your underbody kit - poeple who installed the body kit for 00-03 TL will sure know more about it- and as 02 and 03 TLs, the bodykit is either added or replaced and that depends on the vehicle's body structure.
2- The parking assistant option requires the bumper to be changed, they will NOT make holes in the the bumper.
3- A-SPEC WILL be availabe for both Auto and manual as stated in Honda website and also as will be confirmed when A-SPEC comes out later this month or early next month before the manual tranny's hit the dealers.
4- As known, A-SPEC is going to priced somewhere between $3900 - $4500 and if you want this option, you MUST consult your dealer before purchasing the vehicle for it to be included in financing if thats how your paying, as in after you'll have to pay it from your own pocket.
5- A-SPEC is more of accessories than a sports package (appearance), so don't make it look like a big thing, and put in mind the there is no difference between Automatic TL's and Manual ones, so why wouldn't the Auto have A-SPEC?
6- You can purchase A-SPEC options separetely, but you'll end up paying more, because as a package you pay less, and the steering wheel for A-SPEC looks more of the RSX-S if I'm correct, and the sahpe might look sporty and maybe a little bit smaller than the stock ones, but it adds nothing to the vehicle.
Just don't be surprised when you see it, it might be disappointing to few of you and might not to others - Acura might not drop the ones I saw, because as told they might redesign it.

I was told that you can send your car off for A-Spec treatment ala Saleen. Not at the dealer but at some other sight. That's enough to get me to buy now and check out the A-Spec options later.

My dealer showed me an a-spec auto the other day, it was lacking the rear spoiler but it had the 18 inchers under there as well as the badging.. pretty nice!
