A newbie with questions..

Hey everyone,

I am looking to purchase my first TL and have a couple of questions. I hope you all can help me out!

The first question is, is there a major difference with MPG between the 2007 TL and the 2007 TL type S?

The second question is, can the navigation screen be modified to display tv?

For question 1, the answer is both yes and no. As per Acura's ratings:

TL (3.2) fuel economy is 20/29 mpg** (city/highway), while the Type-S (3.5)fuel economy is 19/28 mpg** (AT) and 20/29** (MT)

The ** noted "Preliminary mileage estimates determined by Acura. Final EPA mileage estimates were not available at the time of printing."

Sourced from http://www.concept/vehicle/z12643/Acura-TL.aspx

I only mention this because, working for Acura, I always snickered to myself a little knowing that even with the extra horsepower I was getting from my S (not to mention the other many upgrades), I still got the same MPG as the base (and yes, I have a 6 speed). Regardless, both base, and Type S AT/MT are all great cars!

As for question 2, as it has been answered, yes, with some mods, you can watch DVDs, play video games, etc, using the navi screen.

My ave. type-s MPG is about 25-26, depending on how many HWY & local miles ... once took some 150-mile trip & did ave. 29 MPG ... I was pleasantly surprised ...

And I totally agree with you, which is why I held out buying a used 04-06 when I found out the S was coming back in 07...couldn't be happier with my 07 S 6MT I just wanted the OP to know that, even if he doesn't get an S, it'll still be a nice car that he'll be happy with.
