Newbie Intro Story and PICS!!
First of all would like to just let everyone know how helpful every thread and post on this site has been since even before getting a TL of my own. I would love to just read through all the threads and look at all the pics for hours on end and still do on a daily basis.
Anyhow to make a long story short, it all began about a year ago when I was in the market for a TL and only a Type S would do. After months of saving, I found a gorgeous KBP Type S on a dealer website. I was so excited I went out and bought it that very same day.
Later that same night I decided to stop off at the mall to pick up a few things then head over to a friend's house to show off the new ride. While coming out of the mall and heading to the car I was texting my friend letting him know I was on my way. I was about 10 feet away from the car and just then I felt someone sticking something into my back, as I turned around thinking it was someone I knew, I realized it wasn't; it was a guy with a gun.
Needless to say he took my wallet, my watch, my brand new blackberry and of course, my key. To be honest, I was completely shocked.. felt like screaming, crying, punching the guy in the face...anything..but I couldn't; I was just frozen as I watched him get in my car and take off.
I ran over to a lady that was walking back to her car a few yards away and told her what happened and asked to use her phone. The police came, took my report and within a few more minutes I saw a helicopter in the sky a few miles away shining its spolight around...
Next day I get a call to come out to a local junk yard and this is what I found.
Apparently there was a chase and the guy ended up jumping a curb and hitting a tree at about 60 mph...
It took about a good two months for all of the insurance claims and paperwork to get all cleared up, but when it did I went and bought myself this...
I haven't done too much with it aside from a V2 intake (courtesy of all these forums!) and of course, painted the rims myself.
Hope it wasn't too long and drawn out but all's well that ends well.
Now on to those pressure switches....

^ too bad the TL has such a high safety rating.. I would have liked to see that POS go through the windshield... Glad you're okay. You did the right thing, it's not worth dying for material things. Nice NBP type-s btw..

Did they end up catching the guy? Did they just find your car ditched somewhere?

Jesus....that's crazy.
Shame that with all of the safety features in the TL, that POS probably walked away without a scratch. Hopefully the cops gave him a few baton "love taps" before tossing him in the back of the cruiser!

Sad story man. The KBP is such a rare color, but nice pickup with the NBP Type S. The wheels are nice!

Loving my 08 TLS!
Dude, amazing and frightening story! At first I thought you bought a salvage car until I read your whole post. Glad that you are ok and you got yourself another TLS. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time and I guess you owning the KBP was not meant to be. The NBP with the black rims looks hot! Great job.

Glad you made it through that scary ordeal.
If my car got stolen, that's exactly how I'd want it back. Wrecked and salvaged...because I couldn't stand to have it back after some douche mistreated it.
Nice work on the repalcment with the same version.

so the guy went through the trouble to hide in your car and then held you up at gun point to take everything you had on you including your car (a type-s no less) but then managed to crash? that's a sign that you've completely failed at life.
anyways hope he not was caught, but is now a paralyzed and reading this thread right now...

Crazy story man, moral of the story is. you need protection. HOT portection.
That wouldnt have happend to me. I would have turned around to find that guy. give him my key and other stuff. as he's walking away to my car, tap him on his shoulder and have him stare down the baral of my 6" 357 magnum. Im sure his gaurd was down and his pistol was away at the time. have him give me back everything (including his gun) and then pistol whip that foo

Yea the guy did get caught and from what I heard was uninjured... however I did get a chance to press charges, but I haven't heard what has happened since.
This all happened about a year ago and I highly doubt the car is still at the same junk yard; if so, probably all pieced out by now.

Damn so sorry to see that happen to you. But like others have said its just a car and you ended up being alright. I have a KBP Type S and that is one rare color. Sad to see another one go.
