On ATF; I believe Honda recommends fluid changes every 30k. You could probably get away with a little more if you use an Aftermarket fluid (search), but honestly i would do every 20-25k. That's just me though; it depends how you drive; where you drive; and what you feel more comfortable in. I do early services on everything;gives you peace of mind. For the record; I have a 6 speed; and I actually just changed out my fluid on Friday.Fluids are relatively cheap;and you can save money if you do the work yourself. Goodluck; oh and welcome :hi:

Is the car new to you? If it is then I recommend doing it ASAP. Also recommend doing the 3rd and 4th gear switches.

Acura recommends that you follow the Maintenance Minder. If you have more harsh driving conditions then do it at 60K and then every 30K after that. My personal feeling is that you should look to do it every 30-45K miles.

Has it never been done? If not I recommend doing a series of 1x3 to get the Honda Z1 fluid out of there. I am using Honda DW1 and a lot of folks here use Redline. I also recommend the switches. That will help your trans shift a lot better.

There are a lot of threads on How To do the work. It is very easy on a 2004 TL.

Congrats Welcome to AZ! Check out the 3G garage for tons of info. Also register your TL at www.myacura.com in the USA or https://www.myacura.acura.ca/ in Canada. Save your Navi and Radio codes there.
