New to website..
Hello,I'm Tom from Michigan and hopefully will be getting a 04 TL in about a couple of weeks. I'm glad that there is a resource for this car....I already have made up my mind that the stock tires will not be on the car come delivery time. too many people have complaints about the tires ability in snow and I need a GOOD tire for winter as well as all season. If anyone has any pics of the WDP w/Parchment interior, send them to me... thanks for your time and once again hello.....:-)
welcome, im kinda new here too, im getting my tl next week, and i hope i will like it as much as everyone else on this board, people are friendly here, so enjoy and ask questions that you have(but not without doing a search first).

Hello Tom, and welcome to the site.
You will find many helpful members here that can answer your questions, along with a large database of information.
Here is hoping you will be behind the wheel of a new TL soon.

Welcome Tom! I am relatively new also and here in PA. In the same boat as you as I should be getting my TL at the end of the month. Hope it's as great as the folks in the cult here claim it is!!!

You seem to have caught everyone in a good mood. Even Norse396 isn't grumbling.
Must be the day before Easter.
I rejected my first ordered TL when it came in because the dealer ignored my written instructions and put it through an automated car wash and then polished it. They put fine scratches all over the surface of my fresh black paint job. They had already made out the paper work but I refused the car. They should accomodate reasonable requests when you are spending $35k.
So, they searched the computer and were able to locate another unit identical to mine which is scheduled to be made next week. It was sold but they were able to give the first one to the guy who was glad to get it two weeks ahead of time. (I doubt they told him why I refused it.)
Now, when my SECOND TL 5AT NAVI NBP/Camel comes in, they will leave the protective stuff on it and call me so that I can unwrap my new car. I also want to retrieve the Build Sheet which details the equipment installed on the car as it goes down the assembly line. The dealer usually throws that away. But, if you watch the classic car auctions on the Speed Channel, you will see that cars that have their Build Sheets bring many thousands more than those without.
Yes, I believe the TL is a future classic along the lines of a 1957 Chevy or a Mercedes-Benz Gullwing Coupe. I want to baby it from the start. I have a "nursery" set up for it in my garage and will detail it myself with premium, professional products. I want to protect that Nighthawk Black Pearl before it gets and scratches or swirl marks.

I too am deciding on which color...WDP,SS,RR...either way with a parchment int(I love the wood trim and shift knob). I see it's also a mixed bag on the body side mouldings...I've seen pics of them in red and white and I don't think they look too bad...also whether or not to get the mud flaps. any and all who have these options and has pics..please send to me!!! thanks for the replies and welcome.

Welcome Tom. Hope you end up joining the WDP club. You'll like the Parchment although Michigan summers don't require a lighter interior as much as Florida does temperature-wise. WDP is easy to keep clean, very visible at night, and makes the TL look just a little bit richer than it costs. Whatever color you get, you are going to end up in a very fine automobile. BTW, I think the body side moldings break up the TL's clean look, but the mud flaps definitely help to keep it cleaner looking longer. FWIW
