New TL - Two Questions

Picked up my new TL (NBP/Camel) today. I love it!

I just had two questions, and I thought maybe someone had dealt with these issues and could help me out.

1. When you're playing a DVD-A disc, how do you switch between audio groups? For example, Ryan Adams' Gold has two DVD-A mixes on it - a 5.1 channel mix and a 2 channel mix. Can I switch between the two mixes (called groups, I think)? How?

2. What's the best way to get this annoying badge off the back of my car? I'm thinking the hairdryer and dental floss method people have used to debadge. Any other suggestions? (See pic). It's a stick-on - no hardware involved. Of course, I'd like a second opinion before I go at the new car with instruments of dental destruction.

Thanks, guys (and gals)!

First off, congrats on the vehicle (especially the interior choice).

Your dealer will remove the decal in seconds.....drive up and ask them to do it. No need for you to take the time / effort / risk there.

As for the DVD-A, I'm enjoying XM radio so much I haven't bothered with that new format.

Enjoy!

Yeah, you should ask dealer to remove it instead of doing on your own in case you scratch the paint or something like that coz you have NBP

Well crap - should have asked the dealer that when I was there (120 miles away) picking up the car. Oh well. That's what I get for saving $1,200.

From what I understand, the DVD-A system can only read one group on a disc

Heat the sticker with a hair dryer. You can then peel if off with no difficulity.

I seem to remember reading in an earlier thread that the ELS sound system automatically recognizes the audio format and switches accordingly.

If you've played the DVD-A demo that came with the car you'll notice the Doobie Brothers song is in both 2-channel and 5.1 surround sound to demonstrate the difference. There is nothing required of the driver to make the switch.

Congrats and enjoy your TL!

I've read in other threads that you can only play one group in the TL. I've not seen anything in the displays that would indicate what group you are listening which supports the theory that you can't change it.
