New TL Owner here...Have a quick question please

Got myself a 2005 base TL, Nightwing Black on black interiors, about 70,000 kms on it. Ex-lease from an Acura dealership.

I have a quick question for you guys.
When the car is on idle (still not stepping on the accelerator) nd I try to turn the steering wheel, the steering wheel feels very heavy and hard to turn. The moment i put my foot on the accelerator then its ok.

Is this normal or is it something of a concern? I plan to drive for quite some distance and was wondering if this is something that requires immediate assistance from the dealership or its something that could wait for later??

Best regards and thanks in advance.

First of all, welcome to AZ!! Yes, as was mentioned this is normal. Steering is much easier when your rolling. Enjoy your trip

Thanks for the quick reply. And the welcome as well.

I thought i needed to ask.

I actually test drove a couple of used TL's with the same model when we were searching for a car and didnt recall having the difficulty steering...So i thought it was better to ask.

Thanks!

do make sure it had the power steering recall though, i think it was just one of the hoses that needed to be replaced, but its an important safety recall that i think can result in fire. just a heads up good luck with the new car and enjoy!
