New TL owner - Help
New TL owner - Help
I am new to the forum and a somewhat new Acura TL owner. I've wanted the new TL since the first time I saw it, and my husband bought it for me as a wedding gift in mid-September.
It is a 2004 TL AT w/Navi, Anthracite Quartz. It does not get driven daily and only has 1700 miles on it.
I was hoping someone could ease my concerns:
1. When my car is in first gear and goes to second, I hear a noise and feel something down by the pedals. It's almost a grinding feeling/sound.
2. When I roll up the window on both the driver's side and passenger side, the interior door panel flexes.
3. There is a rattle in the dash near the center
4. There is a rattle in the rear door on the driver's side
Are these issues covered under warranty?
Thanks in advance for your answers and suggestions.

Hey TL Chick...first off is this 5AT(automatic) or 6MT(manual), if it 6mt it could be the way u shift if not..i would get it looked it...that panal flex when puttin up the windows is normal, most cars do that...as far as for the rattles, ur not the first, theres plenty other that complain..some have learned to live with it, n some went back to the dealer to have them tightened up, good luck

Should be the "ABS" doing a self-test or "driveline vibration". Do a search for more specific details

2. When I roll up the window on both the driver's side and passenger side, the interior door panel flexes.
It happens in my TL, also. This is normal, but you can mention it to your service advisor.
3. There is a rattle in the dash near the center
I got that rattle too. Do a search for "dashboard rattle" or "center spaeker rattle" for more info.

4. There is a rattle in the rear door on the driver's side
I haven't heard of this, just the passenger front door rattle which was caused by the plastic/rubber holder in the bottom pocket.
Are these issues covered under warranty?
#2 - #4 should be coverd. #1 sounds normal, but if it's really grinding than just a "clunk sound", than it's covered. I'd be more worried about this grinding & have my service advisor check it under warranty.
