New TL Owner
Hey everyone! What's up. I recently picked up a used 2004 Acura TL and joined this forum. So far I am totally loving the TL. I actually have an 08 RDX, and this 04 is so much more fun to drive than the RDX...but then again it could just be the new car excitement.
Got the car for $13,000 with 53,XXX miles, white with tan interior with clean title. Sadly, no navi, but I still think $13,000 is a great deal. Before buying it, my friend and I inspected the hell out of it making sure all VIN numbers are attached to body part panels, no orange peel paint, all body parts fit correctly, and so on.
I do have a coupe of questions about the TL though! One being...are the 04 TL headlights HID? Both lowbeam and highbeam?
Anyway, good to meet you all and I expect to be on this forum a lot from now on!

Congrats on your TL, post pics as soon as you get a chance. The answer to you questions is YES both high/low are HID they use the same bulb, and the other one next to its your fog light it uses a 9006 bulb

Thanks for the quick replies. I just noticed one highbeam bulb doesn't work. Plus, the guy i picked up the TL from swapped out to 8k bulbs. However, I wasn't sure if he was just BS'ing and picked up some cheap blue tint halogens or if the TL really has HIDs. Now I know, so I'll be needing to pick up some new 6k bulbs.
Question: if they use the same bulb, why does my right lowbeam work but right highbeam doesnt?

Congrats and welcome to AZ Check out the 3G garage for tons of info. Also register your TL at www.myacura.com. Save your Navi and Radio codes there. Check for any recalls your TL may need.

Hell yea. I thought it was a dam good deal. My wife tried talking him down even more, but he was solid on $13k. But I'm not complaining!
My thoughts exactly.
LOLS. I wanna post pics, but I thought new members aren't allowed to within a certain time period.

Congrats. You can't buy a TL without HIDs.
If one of the high beams are not working but the low beams are, it's not the bulb since there is only one bulb for both. Putting it on high only moves the reflector to let the light shine higher. There's a little plug behind the headlight for the reflector motor. You may want to check that.
