New to the thread need some help and advice

Hey guys, im new here and as well a owner of a Nissan maxima. Looking to upgrade and the Tl is top on my list I'm looking at the 2004 thru 2006 and my price range is 8k of course I'm expecting to get something with over 100k. What should I look for and what kind of repairs should I expect? Definitely wanna get into one within the next month or so. Your help is gladly appreciate

Hope the TL you find is as good as the Maxima. Daughter has had one for 12 years, 240,000 miles, minimal repairs and runs like a top.

Naturally searching will reveal the info you're seeking, but not much goes wrong with the TL, however problems with the trans (A/T) would be #1, not necessarily sheer numbers, but more than what I would consider normal and enough to be annoying. Have seen trans problems out of the blue, no previous indications but the trans goes out. Ours, no trans problems, but needed to replace seat belt buckle and driver's side door look assembly, other than that just normal maintenance and the car is great, still a pleasure to drive.

Hope you find a good one as they are aging and with an $8k price range it may be a challenge.

I paid $14k for a 16k mile base TL about a month ago. I absolutely love the car.

Have patience and search search and search again. Don't buy a rat out of frustration. Your car will come along eventually

I think a common issue with the 04-06 TL were the AT transmissions, that was a major weak point of them. Other than that, I don't believe there are any other specific things to really look out for.

Right around the 105k mark, there is a major timing belt service due so keep that in mind when purchasing.

good luck and welcome to AcuraZine.

^ If you are in San Antonio Texas, I bought the ATLP Quad exhaust from him. Definitely had a nice WDP one.

As with what everyone is saying in here, the Auto Transmission can be a pain, especially from the 04 and 05 years. I haul ass a lot in mine and had to replace the transmission at about 130K miles and 2500 later. Before that I did the 3rd and 4th pressure switches along with Amsoil ATF fluid but I guess the damage was already done from myself or the previous owner. Another issue would be the cracked dashboard thing, and I also had a headlight go out. Other than that, I have done regular maintenance on my vehicle and mods that's all.
