Whats up? I'm new to this forum but I have lurked around for about a week looking at DIY's, mods an such. I'm looking to get a tl with the next month but I thought I'd post now do find out a lot of the things I need to know before I purchase one.
I'm looking at two in particular. One is a black 08 tl navi/cam tan interior with 87,000miles for $15,000 An the other is white 07 base no navi black interior around the same mileage for $14,000. I just need so advice an things I need to know and/or ask an look for. Thanks a lot in advance.
Sorry a few grammar an spelling errors I'm doing this off of my iPhone.

go the black and tan with nav. i dont like the 07 base black interior. if it was an 06 white with black interior i would say jump on it. the 07 black interior is a black wood pattern where as the 06 is a carbon fiber looking pattern, and i am not a fan of the black wood look. i dont really like any wood interior unless its a higher end luxury vehicle, but i think the tan wood is better than the black. plus the nav, and the fact that it is a year younger. either way good luck!
You will have a big service at about 105K that includes the timing belt, water pump, drive belt and plugs.
Check the condition of the brakes and suspension before you buy it.
You will probably want to check to see if the transmission fluid was replaced any time in the last 2 years. That will be something you want to do when you get the car. Get that horrid Honda Z1 fluid out and replace it with the less horrid Honda DW1 fluid or Redline or something else.
Other than this the rest is just making sure the fluids and filters are fresh. Normal stuff.
As long as the car was taken care off the mileage is nothing. I'm at 104K with my 08TL and it runs great.

An is it that big of a deal if the dealer didn't do the filters or fluids? Is it expensive to do it on my own or take to get it done??

^^^ well the dealer will always state the brakes/fluid/filters are new....i dont believe them....3 days after i got my car i found out my rotors were warped and the dealership wanted me to pay $480 for brakes....
this is what i suggest in addition to what Ravi said:
1> Change engine oil....to something nice (Mobil1 EP, Royal Purple, Redline)....i use Redline and am sitting at 160K miles....
2> 3x3 transmission fluid....3x3 is used to flush out the old fluid with the new one...when you drain and auto tranny you get 3qts out (of the 7.8qts)....so you drain 3 and refill 3 a total of 3 times....this way there is 65% new fluid in the tranny....I used Redline Type F....
3> PS Flush: I use Honda but will switch to Amsoil next time around....very simple to do and takes barely 5-10 minutes....
4> Brakes: if the brakes are squealing, ask the dealership to FIX it before you pick the car up....
5> 105K Service: if its done your saving a good 1-2K depending on your location....if not then try to negotiate better....
6> Tires: make sure there is plenty of thread left....you dont wanna be buying tires withing 2-3 months of buying the car....
7> All season floor mats and tray trunk: make sure they are in there
