New problem? Gauges

Anyone notice their interior lights flashing up 2-3 brightness settings for a split second when driving at night? They do for me every five minutes or so...

Any ideas?

That's a feature of the stereo.

Sounds annoying, actually. Hopefully it can be fixed easily.

That sounds like what was happening on my 96TL. I hardly ever drive at night, so one time I drove on a pitch black night and noticed that, but it wasn't 2-3 notches, just a subtle change. I attributed it to the alternator kicking on or off. This might be the case with the 04TL, but it is probably more noticeable because of the increased brightness levels of the instruments. So far, I haven't noticed it on my 04 but then again I only drove once at night, and then it was just to see how the blue headlights looked.

Ron A - you should drive more at night, the blue is soooo....blue....

Tek - Considering how quick we are to report problems on this forum I'd have to say what you're experiencing is unique and not normal.

Plus the inside of the plastic gauge lens covers have cloudyish debris marks from the bezel due to "out-gassing"
