New owner - stupid questions
I got my TL 1 week ago today from Jay Wolfe Acura in Kansas City.
It's a 2004, 60k miles, silver, regular trim level. Anyhow, I have a few stupid questions.
1) The audio system is significantly less impressive than the Bose system that was in my 2003 Silverado. When I first heard it, I thought that my sub may be blown. However, on further inspection (I put my ear next to it), I realized that it was indeed working, but rather quiet. From what I've read on these forums, the best solution to improve sound while staying with a stock look is to install a JL 8W3V2. If I use this speaker, will I need an external amplifier? Also, is the improvement significant enough to be worth the time and money? I don't want hardcore bass to shake other people's cars, I just want a well balanced system with a little more "punch".
2) My left headlight seems to be aimed a bit lower than the right. I was told by the dealer that this is normal. However, the difference seems significant to me. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've learned a lot from reading over these forums, and I appreciate any answers to my questions!

The headlight thing is normal from what I have read - it has to do with the HID light beam. The drivers side is slightly lower to not blind oncoming traffic......
The answer tp the sub question I would like too..........
There are a ton of threads on spekaer replacement - those might give you some ideas on swapping out the tweeters, center and sides too

yes.. headlamp thing is normal. All HID cars have the drivers side dipped lower as not to blind oncoming cars. My past three Audi's had HID's and they were same way, and my wifes Mercedes was the same way. Completely normal like Steve said.

for now, try adjusting the stock sub in the audio menu to full, +6 i think, and it might help. As for the JL 8w3v2, yes, you will need another amp. The headlights are normal.

Your electronic questions can be answered with a search through the Audio, Bluetooth, Electronics & Navigation subforum.
