Question New Owner of an '07 Type-S

Hey guys!

I recently bought a 2007 Electric Blue Type S and want it to go from awesome to bad-ass mode.

I have a budget of 2-3k (maybe more) and wants to do a few things but dont know what I should do.

Wish List:

New Audio system (Including amp + box enclosure in the back)

Exhaust

Intake

Tinted Lights/Windows

Possibly black-out the badges

Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated ^_^

(I am more focused on the performance end atm)

J pipe, pre cat deletes, and atlp quads are great. That will run you up to $2k already. Intake is unnecessary and a waste of money. Aspec kit is a prety good starting point for asthetic upgrades ($760)

Congrats on the car! Electric blue is super bad ass indeed. You can say your car has a lot of 'potential'.

from awesome to badass for 2k? I suggest lowering springs or tein basic coilover + some semi aggressive looking 18's rims. Maybe sell your stock rims to offset the cost?

It was exaggeration lol

But I currently have 2-3k to spend on parts

And a Intake is a waste/overrated? hmm

Any other suggestions?

welcome to the site, you can register your color here https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/tl-owners-please-chime-855960/ thnx.

With $2-$3k to spend I would say the first thing is A-spec kits then into the drop and finally is the J-pipe and exhaust. CAI just a waste of money it won't give you any gain except for noise.

Welcome Elementz, be sure to join our Type S Social Group from my signature below.

Like the guys said, J-Pipe and tints are a must (even though the tints are aesthetic). No CAI, it IS a waste (like Troungh said).

suspension is the place to start to really gain a true feel of the performance you already have stock and be able to learn how to wield the true power of your car....

Lowering suspension/coilovers or spring/strut combo
Progress sway Bar
Rear Camber kit
Good set of Tires for either stock 17s or 18s

Then once you get a grip then we go for letting it rip...

Jpipe
Precats (or high flow cats)
exhaust
(intake is subjective so your call)
TBS
Ported and Polished Mani/runners (if you want to drop money on performance)
UR Stock Size Pulley

Then you need to look good for the long trip....

Aspec Full kit
tints
wheels (18s preferred but 19s for better looks)
audio system (sub amp or more)
interior leds

And the mods can take off from there....so welcome to AZ or as others call it the MONEY PIT!!!

(I only picked a few highlights you can go much further with your car than this including J&R ECU or turbo or supercharge and all the other fun stuff to make this car really JOLT)

Enjoy the car as you have it right now because I remember my first hard S-turn and I smiled the whole way through lol

BOOM (and the rest correct me where and if I am wrong Thanks)

PS USE THE SEARCH BUTTON IT IS THERE FOR A REASON...HAPPY Modding!!

Ok, so I've decided to start with J-pipe and exhaust first

Does anyone have suggestions?

Dont wanna go over $2k for the whole thing (Including the J-Pipe)

I prefer a Deeper sound, and ofc want the most performance for the buck (hp wise)

For blacking out the emblems, try Plastidip. Easy as pie. You can buy a can at HomeDepot or Lowes in the paint department next to the spray paint. I thnk they go for around $6 or $7. Welcome to AZ!!

Aspec kit is the first thing that you should purchase. Then coilovers next.

intake is overrated just by itself - if you PnP your manifold and intake runners, and bore your throttle body, the intake will do you some good.

I have one because I like the sound, but I also have plans to PnP this summer/fall.

I never felt any real power increase on the car until I started doing exhaust mods. It's a no-brainer to get PCD's/J-pipe/catback if you want quick bolt-on horsepower.
