new o4 Tl Owner with 2 easy questions

1. Is the VSA button suppose to have a backlight? Mine I cannot see in the dark


2. ALso is the trunk button suppose to have a backlight. Can never find it at night time.

I have an early production 04 TL

They are on my 06. I'm thinking they would be on the 04s also.

a lot of the times those lights go out for whatever reason


when i got mine the drivers side heat warmer light was out

seems very common but easy to fix and under warranty

they light up in my '06. don't see why it wouldnt light on the 04.

Yes they should light up

This is a common item. the lighted buttons in the TL 04 - 07 have an actual bulb inside each switch. the buld is EASY for the delare to replace. you simply pop out the switch from the dash, and then you will see the bulb on as a blue circle on the side. you can use a coin or a knife to rotate it a quarter turn and then it will fall out. there are actually small filament bulbs, they are NOT LEDs. they are a small bulb with a blue rubber cover to give the slightly muted lite you see from the front.

I confrimed this on an 04.

thanks once again. off to the dealer to get charged 50 bux for .35 bulbs and 49.65 in labor.....

As I mentioned in my post it is VERY easy to replace them. get the bulbs from your dealre but you can do it yourself.
