Lightbulb New Navi Disc [3.30F] ?

On the site http://www.acuranavi.com I discovered that there is a new Navigation DVD:

Acura DVD NAVI DISC VER 3.30F $185

Due to ship in the middle of April.

FAQ is at:

https://iweb.alpine-usa.com/html/don/acuravrfaq.htm

Note that the DVD can be returned within 30 days. Knowing what we know now...

So does it stand to reason that if this new version will be shipping mid-April, that it will be included automatically in new cars built in mid-late April? I hope so - my build date is April 20-24

What I don't understand.. My car ALREADY routes into non verified areas.. it lists this as an added feature in that link.

It gives a bunch of warnings like you are entering restricted airspace or something, but it lets you go map to an address there.

I believe my DVD version is 3.30d. Based on other problems I'm afraid to screw with my DVD until I have a new one. hopefully one which is burned from an ISO image...

My build date was late last week. I will be picking it up next Friday. If I still see this thread around, I'll post the nav version.

You know what's annoying? When you take a non-existent shortcut to get on the freeway (for example), the navi will get all confused and tell you that it can't find a route there and it'll stop navigating until you re-enter the destination. How do you get around that?

I talked to the Acura Navigation Center and they were not aware of any update to the 04 TL DVD but to satisfy me they transferred me to the Alpine Customer Service desk. According to Alpine there is no update to the 04 DVD. All 04 TL's have the latest DVD and some late 03's have it also. The notice that they will be shipped in April is because the factory gets priority on the DVD's and (the way I understand it) they are on backorder. That explains why some of the TL w/Navi were delayed or hard to get. The latest version should have a date of 20030902 which you can find on your setup screen.

I got 3.30D Link, mind is early-built.

Also, I made the calls to Acura Navi & Alpine in Dec/03, they told me there is no such UPDATE, all of them are identical.

This was news at that time.

I picked up my TL on Tuesday and it has 3.30f. The version info is right on the DVD. My understanding is that it was built in early February. So it appears the recently built cars, at least, have the up to date DVD.
