Secondly, I am also a Maxima (02 SE) owner with 2 other Nissans in the pen. If one poster decides to be loose and careless with his/her assessment of Maximas so be it....they will come across as a fool most times anyway. Most Acura owners here on Azine have mad respect for the Maxima and Nissans.

Just keep the conversation civil and do not be so quick to offend when someone posts their displeasure for Maximas. 9 times out of 10 (on this board), they are in the minority anyway.
Im sorry bout that

Depends on his setup. My setup posted above did 289 only on 8psi with stock internals and stock injectors. I did have a tune just because my air/fuel was really bad.

From factory a stock 95 GXE 5 speed maxima is around 3100 pounds because they don't have a special impact bar called the "sill" to protect the passengers in case the engine was to be pushed into the firewall. I believe someone said its about 150 pounds if not less. Part of the frame.

Another thing, Early made 95 GXE's didnt have ABS, the sill, emission canisters, restricted exhaust and intake. In 96 all that changed over when OBD 2 was a real system in the maxima. 95 have a cheapo type of obd2 therefore out of all the 4th gens a stock 95 5-speed would hands down land 14.8 with a good driver easly without mods. Ive seen the fastest stock 4th gen maxima run 14.3 of coarse with a good driver. Not defending nissan or honda here.

I came from a nissan world, and I drive a 3GTL. 04-07 maximas are worthless, and im sorry if it offends anyone. The best years to have gotten a maxima was in 97-98 any SE and 02-03 with the 3.5 engine. 3.0 engines are stronger than the 3.5s. Thing you guys need to know is that the Vq series engines are dual timing chain, 4 cam engines. All aluminum blocks, internal chain driven water pumps. a 3.0 is about 350 pounds i recall. Someone from the maxima.org posted up numbers when he did a 3.5 swap.

Something to be worried about anyone that swaps a 3.5 engine into a 95-99 maxima body you will be in deep trouble. high 13's with a stock engine swap no mods what so ever. I have had enough of my nissan days and now looking into lux and looks than performance and replacing parts every week that keep breaking. Nothing wrong with any TL's and nothing wrong with maximas. Best thing for everyone to do is instead of going along with the neg coments get in a 6 speed maxima and drive it. I got into the new TL and drove it and from that made my choice. They are both great auto makers just dont always look to one side of the story.

Thank you guys for the props on the maxima. It is sold, sold it for the TL.

Depends on each setup. My setup will kill any NA 3.5
Ive seen a 3.5 supercharged 4th gen. Silly fast car.
3.5 with headers, intake, exhaust, tune will run mid to low 13's with a good driver.
Thing about the 3.5 they have a lot of low end TQ and FWD doesn't mix well with that.

Best thing is to do a google search and it will probably redirect your search to the maxima.org website. Like I said I got tired of the whole thing, I do miss my maxima a lot! I wish the new owner takes great care of her.

actually the best swap for the L24 in a 240Z is a small block chevy, now that was a fun ride.............thinking back to my high school years!

I only said this to make people aware that an Altima is some pretty tough competition, an Altima 6spd with the 3.5 would give even a TL-S 6spd a good run for it's money.

Indeed. If you do a search in this forum, you will see several discussion regarding the Alti SE-R. The knowledgeable folks here will give the SE-R its props....the idealists (read: Honda Fan Boys) will not.

As with most TL vs Altima V6/Maxima contests, the Nissan will win down below (provided it does not break traction badly) with the TL coming back on the high end. I suspect that a TL-S 6MT vs Alti SE-R contest would be no different other than the TL-S will pull a bit harder than the 04-06 TL 6MT @ the high end.

RBDET25, I think that's the motor name for the Skyline motor, would be a sick swap on a 240z people have done it with a FWD conversion and had some good results.

The R-series Skyline had both the RB25DE (GT-S) and RB26DETT (GT-R).

I am not sure about that FWD conversion, but the this is what I had in mind:

A Type-S might hold its own, especially with a good driver, but jimmy's TLP Vs. a monster-looking Nissan (which I hope was the 3.5 Altima SE-R or something instead of one of the weaker Nissans)

Also, that skyline is AWESOME ... I totally forgot about that engine when I posted earlier Isn't that the engine they swapped into that '67 Mustang that beat the 350Z in Tokyo Drift?

No, they used the S15 silvia motor, RB20DET, I think.

Anyway what's a stock 350z MT rated it at in the 1/4, I thought it was at best 13.9 stock.
