I own a 2007 TL Type-S with a little over 120,000 miles on it. Been doing lots of DIY maintenance for a few years now thanks to threads here on Acurazine. Figured it was about time I registered.

Haha luckily I don't live in any of those areas! Once had my garage door open all night when my garage door opener malfunctioned and not a single thing was taken.

Dude tell me about it. I spent a year in Chicago (up in the burbs near Buffalo Grove/Lincolnshire. These are nice suburbs and I've seen 2 Type S on bricks with their waffles stolen.

rcchurro89 welcome aboard and sorry in advance for hijacking your post. I'm pretty new here as well (Chicago Suburbs) and curious as to those who take your cars to the shops, which ones would you recommend? I've been to The Pit Shop once years ago and leaning towards it again but due to distance and time looking for something closer (i.e. HAAS is a good runner up). Any other shop recommendations?

Lived here 18 years, not once has anything inside been stolen from my car (TL, that is). With that said, I have had a car stolen once (01 Toyota Corolla) on the west side a few years back. The thing was probably in pieces in some garage by the time I woke up to go to work.

As for shops in the burbs, couple good places depending on what you want to do. I like Abt in Glenview - solid mechanics and they do great work with electronics. There are other performance shops if you're interested in that. Good luck!
