I'm an engine guy - don't know much about the body of this car except that the front bumper cover is very easy to remove and replace.

I'm looking for a replacement front bumper cover and found a place online that sells them primed for $205 shipped.

Any thoughts on whether or not that is a good price point?

D&H Auto used to sell them painted for like $379 + shipping but I see now they only have bumpers for up to 2003 model year TL's, which was pretty disappointing.

Also any ideas on what I should be paying to have a piece like that painted? Stock AM color, for reference - no custom paint jobs here.

 

That's a very good price for an unpainted bumper. Is it new?

A quality paint job should run ~$300.

is it an oem bumper, because if its not, the fit may not be as good and you may have some uneven gaps

 

Not going OEM is taking a chance. Fitment issues, bad primer, possible bondo repair from a used bumper, all could come with that low price.

If your picky, better off going OEM and having it properly paint matched to the fenders, (in person by a pro painter). IMO, OEM and quality paint work is worth the extra money.

Plus if you have a paint issue down the line, you couldn't just bring the car into the paint shop under warranty. The front bumper takes a beating, the work need to be done right to stand up and remain durable.
