Manual TL on the track

For those who take their manual TL to the track, how is the car generally on the track?

What are the "must do" mods to start on the track? cost of these mods? "without sacrificing much comfort on the street"

Do you wish you had a different car (same price though) when you take your TL to the track - ie a Legacy GT or anything else

I am narrowing down my choices to the TL and the Legacy GT and want to make an educated choice based on the above

I am leaning towards the TL because I love Hondas and also love the NA engines vs the turbo - also I see the TL as a more quality car/better daily driver/more comfortable than the GT

Thanks in advance

if you want an all rounded car, which it seems you do from your description of what you want in a car ... the TL is a clear winner IMO

Suspension, Tires and Brakes, Brakes, Brakes.

I Hate Cars actually has a number of really good threads on getting the suspension set up for effectiveness, not necessarily "looks".

I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones I know of.

I track my 6MT TL often and was just out on Monday with a Legacy GT Spec B or whatever it is and I would never want to track one. Brakes were terrible and the body roll was to the level of hilarious.

You can see my setup in the TL Track Bound threads but at the very least I would recommend:

Coilovers and a rear sway bar

At least a HP+ or Yellowstuff Brake pad but I just ordered Carbotech XP12's and am VERY excited to use them next season. A Dot4 racing fluid is just about required too with such a heavy car.

I run Michelin Pilots and they are great and I highly recommend at least a 245 front and rear though I run 255's and monitor the tire pressures very closely.

PM me with any specific questions
