New To the Forum...MPG Question 3G TL
Hello All.
Just joined the Acura family. Love the 3G TL and Dont know why i didnt get on board sooner...Have a quick question. I know the TL has a gas tank size of 17 Gallons, However When the Reserve light goes on and i fill the tank, it tops off at 13.3 gallons. Does this mean I could have driven on 4 extra gallons or there is a problem?

Yea what lovemytl said. If you go into the MID when the yellow light is on and when 'miles to empty' says '0', you can drive about another 50 miles, but of course I would fill'erup before that.

Don't press your luck!
It's not a good idea to let the fuel level get too low, even if there's X miles worth of gas left. The fuel pump relies on the fuel itself for cooling and if the level gets too low the pump can burn out. 80's Fords were notorious for that.

It's in your MID. Go to Trip Computer and scroll through. I think it's the screen after Average Speed/Average Mileage.

mine did the same. I filled her up for the first time since i got the car and the orange light came on after going 370 miles. I filled her up at about 13.7 gallons then i read the manual and it says that i have about 1.3 gallons left when the light comes on. if my math is correct doesnt that end up with 15 gallons?

I would be mindful of what kind of driving you'll be doing when the fuel light comes on as well.
If you're doing mainly city driving, keep in mind that you'll be getting anywhere from 20-22 mpg. Contrast highway driving where you could be getting 28-30 mpg.
