New Feature

I don't know if this was posted before, but if you depress the cruise control button on your steering wheel with the engine off it turns the lights in the car on and off.

What's the point of this as a feature? Is it so you don't have to reach away from the steering wheel?

Just hold the unlock button down on the remote. Same thing.

I don't know what's going on but it doesn't work for me anymore either. I'm pretty sure it worked before. Sorry.

Pretty sure you either opened your door while pushing the cruise control button or took the key out while pressing the cruise control button or pushed on the dome lights button while pressing the cruise control button.

Cause you can't hurt your kids fingers rolling the windows down, but you can rolling them up.

(But I agree)

You *can* roll them up by inserting your key in the drivers door, locking, then turning the key to lock again and holding it. it will close all your windows.

The only car that does this is the Mercedes, and even then you have to be right next to the drivers door, as it has an IR beam from the key to the door.

That;s why half the members on this board have installed the KPtech window roll up mod.

You can't roll the windows closed with the remote because you don't have to have the car in sight to do it.

Therefor, you can't always see if there is an obstruction... like a small child or animal's neck.

If you put the key in the door, you are standing there looking at it and you don't have the same risk.

Just a common sense and legal liability issue.

hmm.. i thought the TL had that safety feature so if you had your neck in the window while it was going up it would stop and go back down.

I'll have to try this out.

If you put your hand out the window and try to roll the window up, it will stop as soon as it meets resistance and it will roll down a few inches.

This is one of the "must have" mods, IMO. I love my KPT module!

Here you go with strictly 19's (the old look, I don't remember whether I had the A-Spec suspension installed at that point):

And now:

Here's a great thread about it:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137075

Basically, it allows you to close the windows and sunroof from the remote by hitting the lock button twice with about a one-second pause between presses. It taps into the wiring that allows you to close up the car using the key in the driver's door lock.
