New delivery in NJ - Checklist??
Picking up my TL Navi tomorrow. Anybody have a good checklist I should go through to ensure the latest equipment/revisions and what extras I should be walking out with? All help appreciated

- Demo DVD
- Acura pen
- EL42s (new formula)
JMHO, but I recommend you ask them to scotch-tape the temporary NJ license paper to your back window. The regular adhesive is pretty strong and I was worried it would mess up the rear defog or antennae.

You can tell by markings and VIN - do a search on "replacement" "EL42" or "TSB" - there are lots of helpful posts. I'd say odds are pretty good that you'll get the new ones.
Also, if you plan on using Zaino, you might want to tell the dealer not to wax the car because you'll have to take it off anyway.

1) Bring a calculator
2) Bring someone else with you, get a different view
3) Bring in writing the deal that was offered, if you were told verbally then write it down
Any problems that you have with the car are covered by warranty so do not spend a lot of time on that, that is exactly what the dealer wants you to do. Any mistakes on the contract are final as soon as you sign.

I bought mine there as well.
Make sure you get the front plate plugs in case you want to remove the plate. It looks much better..
The DVDA Demo
The cover for the emergency shift lock if it's auto.
Who is your salesman?

A few other comments on picking up your new TL:
- budget enough time. It took almost 2 hours for us to go through the whole process with the sales rep, business manager, etc. Also, when we pick up our new MDX in June, and we're going to leave our kids with grandma and grandpa. You don't want them melting down while the business manager is going through stuff that you really need to pay attention to.
- Read the owner's manual when you get home. My sales rep (@ DCH Montclair) was very helpful. And because he used to be a Parts Manager, I found he knew more than most sales reps do. But even he got some things wrong, especially with the MID, and how to program settings for Driver 1 vs. Driver 2. The manual, and even the quick-start guide, map them out pretty clearly - it will be time well spent.

DVD Demo Disc ?
Hey jwinter,
Please let me know if you get the DVD Audio demo disc when you pick up your new baby (congratulations). A friend of mine bought his TL at DCH Montclair in Feb. and was not given one. I told him to call his salesman and he did but was told there were none to be had. I recommended he call ACS and ask about having one mailed to him. Don't think he did that.
Does anyone on this forum know if I can burn him a copy from my demo disc?

Since there's been more than a few complaints here about rattles, and other build-quality issues, I'd spend some time carefully inspecting the car I'm about to purchase before accepting it. I also have always insisted on an extended test-drive by myself in the actual car I'm purchasing before I accept it. If you find rattles or other issues, you can either pick a different car, or have it repaired before you take possesion. The dealer has much more incentive to fix the problems when you haven't taken possesion of the car yet.
I did this when I bought my Accord EXV6 in 2000. I'll do it again when I go to buy a TL later this year. (Thinking about waiting for the '05's - hoping they'll boost production of NAVi models so I can get a better discount.)
