New brake pads don't clear the rotors.

I am trying to install new brake pads onto my 05 Acura TL for some odd reason with the new brakes it doesn't fit on to the rotor. The rotors have been on for 3 years minimum not sure how long previous owner had them. The new pads fit but I think it's a possibility it's wrong rotors. Anyone had this issue some feedback would help.

make sure the piston is all the way down. I normally use old pads and C clamp to push it all the way back in.

Wait how you dropping at shop if you cant get pads back on? Tow or putting old pads back on?

This has to be something simple I am sure. I vote for piston(s) not being compressed enough

Plus he still has the rear brakes lol. OP you probably just didnt push them back in enough, there really isnt that much to doing a brake job. It really sucks when you try to accomplish something and save some money just to end up having to pay a shop to finish it anyways. Ive been there. One time I had a freshly rebuilt engine ready to put back in a car and I snapped a freaking stud that was INSIDE THE ENGINE BLOCK that attaches to the exhaust manifolds. Boy did I learn some lessons that week. Always remove all studs when rebuilding an engine. I tried just about everything to get that damn thing out too, but in the end I had to have a machine shop remove it
