New '06 TL Owner

I must say, making the transition from a 2000 Nissan Altima SE to a 2006 3.2L TL 6spd MT with nav and tan leather seats was like night and day. I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the gas pedal and the pep it has in all 6 gears. Great handling and the car just looks awesome. So far, I am extremely pleased with this car and hope to pick up a few things from some people on this forum...

...one of those things definitely hoping to be a set of type s wheels.

nice, you can't go wrong with a 6mt TL. be sure to swap in some GM syncromesh gear oil and do the slave cylinder check valve delete.

I test drove an Altima once. It was the newer coupe body. The only thing I could think of afterward was that it handled like a wet noodle.

Really? Funny you say that. My parents have an '11 altima and i hate driving it for the exact opposite reason. I feel like it is so tight and just tapping on the break it stops so abruptly. I try to avoid it at all costs but sometimes get stuck driving it around when my parents are in town since the trunk is slightly bigger and better configured to fit a wheelchair.

My parents have an '07 3.5 SE and Im not a huge fan of the handling. The one thing that I was impressed by was the transmission. Personally I would never by a car with AT, but Nissan did do a great job with this one. Very smooth and when you put the petal down, it just goes.

I still like my TL better though...

haha I know. Got it from a private sale, which was helpful on the price, but yeah fingers crossed for the easy tranny fix. Synchromesh is on the way.
