nervous as **ck!!!
So right now i have a loaner TL - i go to pick up mine in aprox 16 hours..............
nervous as hell.
31,500 Non Navi Anthrocite/Quartz
I cant negotiate the price any lower as since hurricane Rita - the "Acura" port is still closed and the dealers are told "They wont recieve any more 05 TL's" When the port re-opens - it will only be 06's they get.
Im putting 8,143 down and loosing 2900 of negative trade........ they did give me good trade i felt....... allot more than carmax offered. So in essance my down payment is only $5,243.......
again - nervous as HELL and more!
although i have been abusing the HELL out of the loaner flooring it- screwing with the speedshift, and breaking as hard as i can.
nervous as hell.

That does not sound like a good price for a model year old car. The 2006 will be showing up any day imho. Why not wait at this point? The dealer will pressure you to take the 05 but if papers are not signed think about it.

Seems like a sales pressure tactic.
BTW: Do they ship the TL's down river from the Ohio plant? Otherwise, I fail to see the relevance of the "Acura" port being closed. That should only affect Acuras made in Japan.

I wouldn't even think they use the river... More work to place them on a barge etc. than to just truck it one way..
As mentioned, I would just order an 06 or negotiate a better price. Easy for us to say though.. We have no idea of the market in your area...

I got the exact same car for 30,200 a couple of weeks ago.
Don't buy that b.s. about weather affecting the availability. My dealer had access to about 70 non-nav and 22 nav '05s when I bought mine.

if are located in the northeast, just go to DCH Montclair, they have plenty of cars and if they don't have what you want, I am sure they can get it for you...
almost a year to the date, i bought my '04 wdp which at the time they didn't have at the dealership... same situation, the '05's were about to come out, but they got it for me... i feel like a lot of people and business are using the hurricanes for leverage and opportunities to make even more money, its terrible.
either way, don't let any dealer pressure you about any sale... its bs.

So what are they going to do with all those 2005's on the boats that can't get into port? Sink them? Salesman is lying or making up stories. As others have said they are made in Ohio anyway. I would shop another dealer and if the deal is the same or better take it. Price doesn't look too bad I paid about 1K less a year+ ago for a 2004. But, hard to compare prices from over a year ago in different regions.

Make MyTL Great Again
Yeah the salesman is full of shit. Call him out on it and see what he says. I don't know where you are located, but that price it too much for a stock non-navi.

What a loser, you make every effort to trash a TL loaner car and then you say how the loaner sucked. I think it was the loaner driver that sucked.
Wow, this is one time I feel sorry for a car salesman. hope you get the deal that you deserve.

Okay what i meant was - i have test driven many TLS - used and new.
Loved them all.
The Loaner car John Eagle gave me was , dirty, had rattles in such "fixable" spots to me..... I just would have thought for the loaner thats suppose to make you "for sure come back and buy the car" - it would have been more presentable?
When i say i abused it - i mean like = flooring it a few times on backroads, breaking real hard - i guess getting a feel for the car. My friend was showing me how the speedshift worked - why not learn it on their car?
I am still considering purchasing from this dealer as i cant get lower from nay other - we are off by 900 dollars now.... it just sucks cause im the one who has to cave in the extra 900 dollars.......

You didn't ask but no matter how you shake it, this is a bad deal for you. I don't think you asked but you should keep the Accord for at least another year and maybe more. Why lose $3000 on what you wanted just last year?
Unless you have lots of money, you are making another bad very decision. I understand why you are nervous, you should be. Just my opinion.

you make a valid point - but the dealer called - and lowered the car by 400
Hip Hip Horray
I guess i figure i have a great job, house is paid, nsx is paid, and i use the accord for work - and i know im taking a bath on the accord - but i guess this is part of life. - biggest mistake was financing a bunch of debt from my RAV4 when it was totaled and they rolled over the balance to the accord - great news is the negative equity is not nearly as much as it was on the rav4
I do appriciate EVERYONES help on this forum - you all have been helpful - i will take photos!

Hey M Light -
I didn't notice you were from H-town on prior posts...
For reference, I bought my Non-Nav TL (black and tan) 2 weeks ago from Sterling in Houston. I had emailed all area Acura dealers, and John Eagle did have the best quote, plus when speaking with them on the phone, they threw in mud flaps, wheel locks, and 1yr of oil changes - $31,250. I called Sterling and they matched the quote. We bought a MDX from Sterling, and they have given us good service. Anyway, looks like you worked a good deal.
Enjoy
